The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky signed Decree № 660/2021 “On awarding the Borys Paton National Prize of Ukraine in 2021”.
Eleven works were singled out a reward: “Dynamic interaction of solid and deformable bodies with liquid”, “Physical and technical principles of creating controlled nano- and microstructures on the surface of solids”, “Electrochemistry of functional materials and systems”, “Latest multicomponent high-entropy materials for structural and functional purposes”, “Physical bases and innovative technologies of ultrasonic processing of materials”, “Means and systems of inertial navigation and initial orientation of rocket and space technique”, “Creation of highly economical hydro units for HPPs of Ukraine”, “Textile materials and products for special and military purposes”, “Ensuring the quality of medical care for newborns in the course of perinatal services development in Ukraine”, “Latest methods of use of stem cells and bioengineering technologies in regenerative medicine”, “Preservation and restoration of plant diversity of Ukraine”.
The authoring teams of these works will receive three hundred thousand hryvnias each. They include representatives of academic, university and sectoral sciences.
It bears reminding that on April 15, 2021, the Verkhovna Rada approved a law renaming the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology as the Borys Paton National Prize of Ukraine.
On November 18, 2021, the President of Ukraine signed a Decree approving the description of the laureate’s honorary badge and established that in 2021 the awarding of the Borys Paton National Prize of Ukraine is based on a competition held by the State Prize Committee of Ukraine in compliance with the Regulations on State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology.
Note that the prize is awarded for outstanding scientific research that contributes to the further development of the humanities, natural and technical sciences, has a positive impact on social progress and affirms the significant weight of the national science in the world; for development and implementation of new equipment, materials and technologies, new methods and techniques of treatment and prevention of diseases that meet the level of world achievements; for works that make a significant contribution to solving problems of environmental protection and environmental safety; for the creation of textbooks that contribute to the effective mastering of knowledge, significantly affect the improvement of specialization training.
