We, Ukrainians from the Antarctic station “Academic Vernadsky” appeal to the whole polar community, to all stations and the countries, which they present with deep respect. Here in Antarctica, all the states keep to their international agreements according to the Antarctic Treaty and have respect towards international law and aim at peaceful cooperation.
However, such good neighbors relations are present not at all continents. Despite all international agreements and assurance in safety, our country Ukraine has been experiencing for 8 years already, what is a hybrid war and its part is occupied. As you know, recently the Russian Federation has decided to use its army on our land. Because of the aggressive actions of Russia, this military conflict can become global and affect the whole world. We are very grateful to the all states, who support us in such a difficult time. We ask Polar Community not to stay away, but to support Ukraine, its territorial integrity, and independence.
