Thanks to all people who supported us we have already helped the Askania Nova Biosphere Reserve, the Hetmansky National Park, the Meotida National Park, the Luhansk Reserve, the Berdyansk Zoo within the occupied territories, and the Mykolaiv Zoo and the Yelanets Step Reserve on the liberated territories, where heavy fighting was taking place just a few days ago.
We thank everyone who contributed to our campaign of saving wildlife! However, there is a lot more money needed. We ask you to share this post as widely as possible, because aid is needed right now! When the war is over, we will prepare a detailed briefing with the directors of nature reserves and zoos that we have all been able to help and report on the provided donations.
About 4 million hectares of Ukraine are protected areas. Due to russian aggression, natural ecosystems suffer because of fortification construction, explosions, military vehicles, etc. Those protected areas that have special administrations are not able to get funding, and such as Askania Nova and zoos are not even able to buy fodder for the wild animals. Some of the national parks have found themselves in a humanitarian disaster zone and their employees have no means to provide their basic necessities of life.
Similar problems also exist in other protected areas, where there is a large population of wild animals, in particular, Mykolaiv, Kyiv and Kharkiv zoos, national nature parks “Azovo-Sivashsky”, “Dzharylgachsky”, nature reserve “Yelanets steppe” and others. For this reason, our Group has created a fundraising campaign to support national parks and nature reserves.
We ask you to help!Following link https://uncg.org.ua/pidtrymaty/ contain account details for contributions in the ukrainian national currency as well as foreign currencies.
ATTENTION We ask you to indicate “charitable contribution” (“благодійний внесок”) in the description of the payment. 100% of the funds that will be received on these accounts before the end of the war will be used exclusively for the needs of nature reserves and national parks.
