Energy Community sets up a Fund to rebuild Ukraine’s war-torn energy infrastructure

The Energy Community has decided to establish an Energy Support Fund for Ukraine to counter the effects of the russian invasion.

It is expected that the donors of the Fund will be mainly EU member states, as well as international companies and corporations.

Consolidated funds will be used to restore energy infrastructure that has been damaged or destroyed as a result of hostilities in Ukraine launched by russian military aggression.

It is expected that the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine will coordinate the requests of Ukrainian companies for the relevant restoration work.

At the same time, the procedure for selecting suppliers will be implemented by international procurement agencies with experience in the energy sector.

Preference in procurement will be given to Ukrainian manufacturers who will offer the best value for money, as well as be able to fulfill orders in the shortest possible time.

“I am very grateful to our partners in the Energy Community for their clear position in support of Ukraine and the establishment of such a Fund. Millions of Ukrainians have already felt how cruel our enemies are – Russians are killing women and children, destroying infrastructure, leaving people without light and warmth. But with the help of our friends, we will restore these destructions, rebuild a country that will be even stronger and even more energy-efficient, “the Minister of Energy German Galushchenko.
