At the request of the Ukrainian authorities, the Crisis and Support Center of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, together with the Ministry of Solidarity and Health and several French hospitals, is transporting more than 28 tonnes of medical equipment by road to Poland. Then it will be handed over to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and transferred to several medical institutions in Ukraine.

This is stated in a joint communiqué of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Solidarity and Health.

The new shipment includes an oxygen generator that allows hospitals to treat up to 500 patients with oxygen therapy; 50 respirators and consumables to treat several hundred patients; the second batch of respirators offered by the Antadir association, with consumables offered by ResMed; 4.5 tons of medicines (emergency, general medicine, pediatrics) for the treatment of up to 500 seriously injured, as well as the second batch of emergency medicines donated by several French hospitals (CHRU in Nancy, Niort Hospital, Lozere Hospital, Pontoise Hospital, with the logistical support of Henri-Mondor University Hospitals (AP-HP).

The aid also includes a high-power generator to increase the electrical safety of the Ukrainian medical facility.

Some of these donations were funded by contributions from local authorities and companies to the ministry’s special funds.

In addition, the French Blood Alliance donated two trucks delivered by the Crisis and Support Center of the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in March 2022 to collect blood. Today they are used in Ukraine to help Ukrainian patients and victims.

“These operations, conducted within the European Union’s Civil Protection Mechanism framework, demonstrate the solidarity of France, its hospitals, local authorities, and companies with the Ukrainian people,” – says the statement.
