The painting by Maria Prymachenko was sold at the charity auction for 500 thousand dollars, the organizers reported on Facebook.
“We raised 500,000 dollars at the auction on selling the painting by Maria Prymachenko for the UAF [Ukrainian Armed Forces – tr.],” – the statement reads.
Even before the auction started the bidding was called a sensation as the painting’s price surged from the starting price set at 5 thousand dollars to tens of thousands.
The auction was organized by the auction house DUCAT and Serhiy Prytula Charity Foundation.
Ukrainian artist Maria Prymachenko’s painting “Flowers grew near the fourth block” was put up for online bidding. The starting price was 5 thousand U.S. dollars.
