Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine for European Integration Yaroslav Demchenkov discussed with the Minister of Economy of Slovakia Karel Hirman the expansion of cooperation in the field of energy.
That’s according to the Energy Ministry’s press service, Ukrinform reports.
“The potential for cooperation between Ukraine and Slovakia is quite large and being used only partially. There is potential for projects amid the war, as well as for projects to develop a sustainable energy industry after our victory,” said Demchenkov.
According to the minister, Ukraine and Slovakia have the potential for cooperation in increasing the capacity of interconnectors and hydrocarbon production, as well as in the implementation of the project to supply various types of oil through the Southern Druzhba oil pipeline using the infrastructure of Ukraine, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and Hungary.
In addition, Demchenkov and Hirman discussed the operation of the power system in the context of Russia’s continued massive attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure facilities. The Slovak minister announced his country’s readiness to provide assistance to the Ukrainian side with materials and equipment for carrying out repair works.
As reported, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has established a high-level International Advisory Council to support Ukrainian energy companies.
