Protection of the Ukrainian language abroad is one of the political tasks facing the country today.
That’s according to the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, Taras Kremin, who spoke at the 1st International Expert Forum “Poland-Ukraine: New Educational and Cultural Challenges”, his press service reports.
“The protection of the Ukrainian language abroad is one of the political tasks facing us today,” Kremin said.
He focused on the issues of spreading the Ukrainian language across the world and helping to meet the language needs of Ukrainians abroad and citizens of Ukraine who were forced to flee the country due to the ongoing war.
The Commissioner also thanked the Polish community for the opportunity for Ukrainians in Poland to study by the Ukrainian curricula, opening of Ukrainian schools, popularization of the Ukrainian language, and support of Ukrainian content. He emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation with educational facilities and initiatives by Poland in order to increase opportunities to meet the linguistic needs of ethnic Ukrainians in this country.
As reported by Ukrinform, 50 Ukrainian-language audio guides appeared at the sites of extraordinary cultural and historical importance in 32 countries.
