That’s according to the operator’s press service, Ukrinform reports.
Consumption is at its lowest for the whole week, which is typical for Sunday morning, according to the update.
“Increase in consumption is predicted in the evening and tomorrow morning. It is now extremely important for the power system to avoid both peak loads and drops in consumption. We ask that you distribute the use of energy-intensive devices throughout the day,” the operator said, addressing consumers.
No consumption caps were introduced across regions due to the lack of capacity deficit in the power system. At the same time, in consumption increases, hourly blackouts may be applied. Actual consumption will further be measured on Monday.
Scheduled outages are still enforced due to network restrictions in the city of Odesa and Odesa region. Also, hourly outages are possible in some districts of Kyiv and Kyiv region in connection with the repair work carried out by the regional power distribution companies.
Repairs are also underway 24/7 in Odesa and in other regions, where main grids have been repeatedly attacked by Russian missiles and drones, noted Ukrenergo.
The operator recalled that more than 10 GW of the main installed capacities are currently unavailable to the Ukrainian power system, being under Russia’s control. This is Europe’s largest Zaporizhia NPP, as well as Zaporizhia TPP, Luhansk TPP, Vuhlehirsk TPP, and Kakhovka HPP. Also, the majority of wind and solar power plants are located in the southern territories temporarily captured by the Russians.
Besides the NPPs, the rest of the power plants are seen as key regulating capacities. It is they who provide coverage of consumption in peak morning and evening hours, Ukrenergo added.
