ЕНЕА Ministerial Conference 2024

On 29 May 2024, the ЕНЕА Ministerial Conference 2024 began in Tirana, Albania.

Deputy Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, member of Erasmus+ HERE Team, Mychailo WYNNYCKYJ is the head of the Ukrainian delegation. The Ukrainian delegation also includes Mykola TROFYMENKO, Rector of Mariupol State University; Olena KOZIEVSKA, Head of the Secretariat, Committee on Education, Science and Innovations, Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine – Parliament, member of Erasmus+ HERE Team; Polina HOMBALEVSKA, President of the Ukrainian Students Association, expert on accreditation of study programmes of the NAQA; Maryna MRUGA, State Expert, Directorate for Vocational Pre-Tertiary and Higher Education, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, member of Erasmus+ HERE Team.

The event is attended by 47 participating countries, including representatives of ministries, national student associations, persons responsible for the implementation of the Bologna Process in their country and members of the academic community.

The conference is expected to adopt the Tirana Communique 2024, which is an important step towards identifying and implementing strategic priorities for the development of European education in the next 3-5 years to create an inclusive, innovative EHEA, promote internationalisation and mobility, preserve core academic values and the social dimension of higher education, and continuing to block russia in the Education area.

The conference participants expressed solidarity with Ukraine, respect for Ukrainian universities and the Ukrainian higher education system as a whole, which managed to preserve higher education in the face of war.

In addition, the Tirana Communiqué is a further development of the Rome Communiqué adopted in 2020.
