The European Commission is preparing for the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), which will begin in 2028. In line with President von der Leyen’s Political Guidelines for the 2024-2029 European Commission, the Commission aims to develop a simpler, more focused, and responsive budget that aligns with European strategic priorities.
To support this process, seven Open Public Consultations have been launched as part of a Europe-wide campaign to gather feedback from various stakeholders on optimizing the EU budget. One of these consultations focuses on EU funding for cross-border education, training, and solidarity, youth, media, culture, and creative sectors, values, and civil society.
The target audience for the consultations includes:
- EU institutions, national, regional, and local authorities
- Recipients of EU funding (students, researchers, farmers, etc.)
- Citizens
- Businesses, SMEs, and business associations
- Other stakeholders, such as civil society organisations, the research/scientific community, academia, think tanks, media, and international stakeholders.
The deadline to complete the questionnaire is 7 May 2025 (midnight Brussels time).
