International Conference on Cooperation in Higher Education: “DanubE+ Cooperation”

On 25 to 27 June 2025, the team of the National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine, together with a delegation of representatives from Ukrainian universities, took part in International Conference on Cooperation in Higher Education: “DanubE+ Cooperation” held in Bucharest, Romania.

The DanubE+ Cooperation international conference is a unique, high-level event that brings together rectors and vice rectors from six countries linked by the Danube River — Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Moldova, Serbia, and Ukraine. The event was organised by the Romanian National Erasmus+ Agency.

The conference brought together more than 50 participants from Romania, Hungary, Moldova, Serbia and Ukraine. The participants represented higher education institutions implementing or preparing to implement international academic mobility projects, capacity-building initiatives and institutional partnerships. The delegation from Ukraine was represented by a team from Academy of Labour, Social Relations and Tourism, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Pryazovskyi State Technical University”, Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, Odesa I. I. Mechnikov National University, A.V.Nezhdanova Odesa National Academy of Music, and National Erasmus+ Office – Ukraine.

The aim of the event was to forge strategic partnerships with fellow HEI leaders across the Danube region; explore international cooperation opportunities under the Erasmus+ programme; gain first-hand insights into the preliminary results of the EDUREGION project, a key initiative supported by the Danube Region Programme that seeks to enhance governance and cooperation in higher education; engage with good practices from successfully implemented Erasmus+ projects; set the foundation for joint projects and long-term academic collaboration.

Participants had the opportunity to join interactive discussions, receive practical advice from international experts and establish professional connections with peers from other countries.

Opening remarks were delivered by Adrian GEORGESCU, Romanian Erasmus+ National Agency and Luminita MATEI, Romanian Ministry of Education.

During the first session Claudia MELINTE, National Erasmus+ Office Moldova, Kateryna ZHDANOVA, National Erasmus+ Office Ukraine, Marija FILIPOVIĆ OŽEGOVIĆ, Serbian Erasmus+ National Agency, Linda HUSZÁR, Hungarian Erasmus+ National Agency, Nicoleta POPA, Romanian Erasmus+ National Agency shared their experience on How can the Erasmus+ programme help the university internationalisation process.

During the second session two parallel workshops were moderated by Veronika TKACHENKO, National Erasmus+ Office Ukraine and Mihai GĂICULESCU, Romanian Erasmus+ National Agency.

Workshop 1 was related to Good practices from successfully implemented Erasmus+ projects KA1 projects. Tatiana BULIMAGA, Moldova State University, Gina KAFEDZHIAN, Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts ‘Prof. Asen Diamandiev’ Plovdiv and Gergő PÉTER RÁTKAI, Bhaktivedanta College shared their best practices and successful stories on mobility projects.

Workshop 2 was related to Good practices from successfully implemented Erasmus+ projects KA2 projects. Sorin CAZACU, University of Craiova, Romania, Ruslan BILOSKURSKYI, Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University, Ukraine and Daniela POJAR, Technical University of Moldova shared their best practices and successful stories on Alliances for innovations, Cooperation Partnerships and CBHE projects.

During the final session Project Matching, Gathering and Sharing Ideas was organized.

During second day Marko BANKOVIĆ, Serbian Erasmus+ National Agency presented EDUREGION Project. Stakeholder consultation on added value to needs and benefits were provided.

At the end of the last day participants joing the last workshop aimed to setting up new projects together based on their discussion and common issues.
